Dr. Billy Kihei is presenting work on images exchanged over V2X! Global Positioning Systems (GPS) are critical to enable Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) safety applications for smart cities. To uphold the reliability of V2X applications when GPS is not available, we propose a trusted video-based localization system using incremental machine learning and a private blockchain to enable GPS estimation. In addition to a blockchain consensus algorithm, we propose three new SAE J2735 messages for enabling machine learning based video-positioning estimation over V2X. We validate the proposed approach with a computer vision classifier that can provide 2m of estimation error.
We’ll be presenting a concept for a wearable to assist in the wide-scale monitoring of citizen activity to improve smart city analytics. The pressure sensor is a polymeric foil encased with aluminum foil that provides stable readings of applied pressure. With only two detection regions: heel and toe, we assess the classification performance using a real-time implementation of a trained machine-learning model. We collect training data on two categories: pedestrian movement and sports activities. We achieve an accuracy of 76%.
Discovering Legacy Vehicles for Future V2X Networks (invited talk)
Dr. Kihei will be discussing how vehicular networks and vehicular identification could benefit from passive monitoring of the Doppler domain.
Join Dr. Billy Kihei for a discussion of V2X technology in future transportation.
Join Dr. Billy Kihei for a discussion of V2X technology in future transportation.
Join Dr. Kihei as he will be presenting on the latest academic research in open-source V2X.
Join ReachRF LLC in Chicago, IL as we present a workshop in collaboration with the University of Management and Technology, Pakistan on the usage of the Doppler sensor with machine learning. In this workshop we demonstrate how to use an incoherent Doppler sensor (separate transmitter and receiver), to detect movement in V2X mobile channels. The work covers a demonstration of how to do this processing along with tips and tricks for training a machine learning algorithm and selecting the best features to use.
ReachRF, LLC will be moderating a panel on connected vehicles at the Deep Learning Conference at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. This conference is focused on how applied deep/machine learning research can impact the advancements of applications related to health care, smart grids and city services. The panel will look at connected vehicles from both the research and industry perspective.
ReachRF, LLC will be on a panel at the world famous TU-Automotive Detroit show in Novi, MI. The panel will discuss the Security in the Supply Chain, a much needed and overlooked aspect of security which goes beyond the bits-and-bytes to the processes and partner management. You do NOT want the bull whip affect in an unsecured supply chain. We’ll discuss these topics and more alongside the other esteemed panelists.
ReachRF is educating critical infrastructure personnel gathering in the Big Apple about emerging jamming attacks in critical wireless networks. From Executive Order 13800 (EO 13800): “…known, but unmitigated vulnerabilities are among the highest cybersecurity risks.” This includes GPS jamming, cellular jamming, and V2X/ITS jamming.
